This should really be common sense; however, you need to be honest with her despite the fact that you will hurt her. That's life.

Tell her that you're not looking for anything right now and just aren't interested in the same way she is. Tell her that if she wants to continue to be friends then that's fine, but that's as far as it goes.

Be polite about it, but be honest. I always throw out the friendship line because it softens the blow a little bit, but at the same time I know that they won't want to be friends afterwards because it's awkward for them.

Well, you really should have been more clear with her the first time she said she liked you. If she told you she likes you, and you guys keep hanging out and making plans, she obviously is going to think you have some sort of feelings back towards her. She has made some very clear indications of her intent towards you, you can't just leave subbtle hints that you don't like her back.

I think right now, if you don't want to date her, your probably not going to be friends either, she will probably be pissed at you and she has every right to be. She probably gave you indication that she was breaking up with her boyfriend for you before she broke up with him, but even if she didn't, she let you know this weeks ago apparently, and if you had been clear with her then, it would have made things much easier on her.

In the future, man up and be straight with people about this sort of stuff. What your doing right now just makes it harder on everyone invovled.

For now, next time you talk to her, say something like this "_________, I'm sorry for the way I've been treating you recently. I know you made your feelings very clear to me, but I did not make my feelings for you clear. I don't feel the same way about you that you feel about me. I'm sorry that I did not tell you this sooner."

That's impossible! That defies the basic principles of 'ladder theory'. The only reasonable explanation for you not liking her is that you either think she's wolf ugly, or you have access to someone else who's higher on the 'ladder'.

Nothing turns me off more than run on sentences and comma splices.
