I was reading this on reddit. I believe the Samsung drives, if you open the cover you will know its been played with. Hes lucky amazon is easy and let him send it back. I wonder if the package was original seal from Samsung? This makes a huge difference.

An internal theft no doubt, the video talks about buying retail and exchanging real parts before a return, I'm actually surprised Apple would just turn an open return around as new. The rental car business would rent out new cars and get back old tires and batteries etc. Scammers find it too hard to work and punishment is a joke in Canada.

From what I've read, Amazon warehouse can be pretty hit and miss. I bought a used Xbox One, and it was missing the controller. Granted, the return process was very easy (and they paid shipping), but it was still annoying.

While Amazon does have a lot of problems with things like shady marketplace sellers (things like fake SD cards and the like), they're very good with compensating consumers who get ripped off.

Buying from Amazon marketplace sellers has always been sketchy. Usually for something expensive (or where i'm worried about fakes) ships and sold by Amazon is a minimum requirement unless i know the seller. There's so many options for buying stuff (especially computer parts) no reason to deal with a random seller.
