Depending on how much the damage is, just fix it yourself.
If it's really expensive, just file a Hit and Run at the collision center, and then claim through insurance. The police is unlikely to chase down any suspect for you especially since you have no details on the other car.

Someone hit my car overnight... what to do?
hi,
Last night i parked my car on the side of the road becuse I wanted to have a quick getway in the morning w/out backing out of my driveway or garage. Rarely people park on the side of the streets at night. BTW ... there is no law of parking on the side of the street. Anyways, this morning I woke up and did my morning daily routine and then when i came out the corner of my car was all smashed up!!! ... last night I was in such a deep sleep I didn't hear the hit. I was in a rush this morning so I asked my Wife to drive me to work, so when i got home and asked the neighbour .... they said they heard a loud boom but when the looked out and didn't see anything and my street had light far far apart and can only dimmly see the houses or cars with no head lights on. So what should I do? do i file a police report?
thanks,
Chris

Um, how are you poor? What's wrong with living in a basement? When I was growing up, my family and I lived in the basement of our house and rented out the upstairs so we could pay for our mortgage.
You have quite a nice car and you are able to pay insurance and gas on it. That bad AT ALL.
I'm a student in much poorer financial shape. Don't be ashamed of your financial situation. At this point it has way more with stuff that is out of your control._______________

Nothing shameful about living in a basement, in fact, it's a very good stereotype that most students are poor.

But be proud that you're paying rent and paying all your car related expense.
Take the car to a bodyshop nearby if the car is still driveable and ask them for a quote. If it's far greater than your deductible, then go through insurance.

good job beaver liquor!!!
if you didn't lie about the hit and run and you didn't lie about the damage, I'd estimate at least $1000 in repairs - more like $1500+.
go claim insurance. hit and run is claimed under comprehensive which doesn't affect your rates. the same thing happened to me last year jan 1. door and front fender was dented, cost $1700 to repair the two pieces. you mentioned at least 3 pieces so it's likely to be more. but then it's a corolla so it might be cheaper. no way it will cost less than your $500 deductible though.
good luck._______________ITEMS FOR SALE
