The reflectors in the road, I noticed there are a lot of those in the US than here. We have those on the highways mostly in sections where there are no streetlights. Highways are implemented by the provincial government, and not the municipal government.
The thing is - for any change to take effect here in Toronto, an accident of epic proportions has to take place before they consider revising traffic laws. So far, everyone's gotten used to things so they stay the same. For example, the traffic law of banning cell phone use and handheld devices while driving were only enacted a year and a half ago, maybe 2 years. It's only going live this coming Monday, and even then, for the first 3 months if you are caught you are given a warning and not a fine, yet.
Side note, in the entire city - we have only 2 official scramble pedestrian crossings where you can cross the street diagonally like you can in Tokyo for example.
Where did you come from before coming to Canada?_______________

Unless that person was just going into the club to become a member, a quick cross-reference of the members (and spouses) to BMW ownership is going to create a fairly short list of suspects.
She/he is cooked.

Awww I was going to post The Original!
But as has been mentioned, I'm pretty impressed with the BMW. I always thought the X5/X3 was just a station wagon sitting high._______________

Well, I don't want any thing MAJOR to happen that can cause casualties...but I do hope the people of Toronto speak-up and demand these changes....for their own sake and the sake of their loved ones.
As for the intersections...yeah..i have seen a few of them mainly downtown.
The reflectors then need to be increased...it will immensely help with poor visible conditions.
As from where i was before i came to Canada? Well, I was raised most of my life up until i came here...in Abu Dhabi / Dubai in the U.A.E. and that has one of the best traffic systems ever...based of course on the British traffic system. We have radar cameras every 100 meters on the Dubai highways..that snapshot you as you approach...not from behind...so the driver will be in the photo. Also, they have the black-points system (similar to here), so if you cross a red-light you get 24 black points (the maximum points per year), your license blocked and car is impounded for three months, and you go to jail, and pay a heavy fine of CAD. 750 almost. They are that serious about it. Also speed camera's get you black points and you get a fine of CAD. 200 approx.
The system there has it's flaws...but its still way better than over here...so the accidents are drastically reduced. Also, since it is an Islamic country...you cannot drink and drive by default..and if you do and get caught you will be jailed and possibly deported. They are very strict in their safety rules.
In Abu Dhabi (the UAE Capitol) last year had a car pile up of about 150 cars on the Abu Dhabi to Dubai Highway...alot of the cars burst into flames from the impact of other cars around them or caught fire from other cars around them. The cause was very heavy fog early in the morning with zero visibilty...the people did not even have time to react to any collision infront of them...because it was probably their fault that they were not driving slower than normal and they did not keep enough safe braking distance between their cars.
I met this German guy who survived in his Volvo...one of the safest cars with an anti-whiplash system. His car caught flames and he couldn't open the doors...yet the electricity was running still in his car's system so he escaped from the electric sunroof with minor injuries. He showed me the picture of the car after the fire was put out and it looked like a piece of charcoal! Very lucky guy!
In fact the U.A.E. is the safest country in the world to live in. Women can be walking down the street alone at 3 am or late at night and nobody will even bother or maybe harass them.Last edited by Scorpionsy; Oct 24th, 2009 at 11:40 PM.
