Chances always are.. You will Loose the credit upon migration to post paid. Its like that with all carriors. Prepaid credit is not the same as monthly credit... what gave you the idea the prepaid credit can be converted into a monthly bill credit? jesus?

11. Migrating from a Fido Prepaid service to a monthly account
It is also possible to migrate your Fido Prepaid service to a postpaid account. There is no fees to do this, and you can keep your SIM and your phone number.
When you migrate, any balance left on your Fido Prepaid service will be transfered as a credit on your first invoice.

If you would have read the sentence I wrote precisely, I said it WOULD void my warranty IF I went that route, or I can just CONVERT my songs into a different file and NOT void my warranty. When I stated, "the steps I stated above", I meant the whole reason this post was even started. Why would I make things difficult for myself? My plans working just fine.

Why don't you just call FIDO and find out from them, then having to type paragraphs into the forum and wait a bit for a response??
But I do see where youre coming from, about switching to Postpaid and wanting to keep the airtime amount from your pay as you go. Don't believe everything you read or hear though, so don't be upset if Fido says the Forum is wrong, and if you feel the Rep isn't answering your questions in 'detail' or places you on hold a lot to find your answers, then hang up and just call back again. I find that with every service provider, you can always get different reps that give you several answers. BEST OPTION- right off the bat, ask for rententions, and dont take NO for an answer, but be pleasant.
But when I was with Bell Mobility a couple years ago, they migrated me to post paid FROM Prepaid, and they transferred my remaining balance without a problem They're not FIDO but it can give you a little hope.

Just though Id update. Going from PP to monthly, there is no charge. Going from monthly to PP theres a $25 charge. Had to go though 3 reps to ensure this, the first 2 said there was a fee. I got his name and he said to ask for him when I wanted to switch over.

That's awesome, thanks for the update, and glad its worked out in your favour. Don't you hate having to talk to different reps in order to get a definite answer?!?! Good Luck to the switch..
