Sony ex620 vs lg lw5000

Had to setup an account as I have a difficult dilemma.

Currently fs has the 46 inch ex621 for $897(don't remember the exact $) while the 55lw5000 is in sale for $999

According to televisioninfo.com the ex620(assuming they are same tv) it is better than the lw5300. So for an extra $100 I get extra 9 inches and 3d but I lose out on picture qualit and smart tv, which I don't care.

So would you guys choose the Sony or lg? Thanks in advance.

Either size will fit my living room; can my human eye tell the differences between the picture quality?

9 extra inches is a pretty big difference and bigger is always better. I say get the biggest tv you can fit.

The LG has excellent picture quality from what i read and heard good things about the LW5000. Blu-ray players these days have the Smart feature too, so you won't be losing much.

how far are you sitting back from the TV? 46" will be adequate if you are sitting close enough. I am running a 50" and sitting about 9 feet back. Any further back, I would go for a larger screen size.

The viewing distance calculator says the optimal distance to be sitting from a 46" set is 6 feet (!) to fully see all the detail 1080p content has to offer. http://myhometheater.homestead.com/view ... lator.html

Read the wiki which also talks about viewing distances and screen size to decide what's best for you http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Optimum_HD ... g_distance
