I doubt I would even pay $5 for this. My cell phone alarm is more useful.

This is probably the only Sony product that does not contain any proprietary design ...
Always know what time it is. The Sony ICF-C218 Automatic Time Set Clock Radio has a 0.9" green LED display, which is easily viewable from across the room, but takes up very little space on your nightstand. It hosts a number of features including automatic time set, automatic Daylight Savings Time adjustment, built-in calendar, AM/FM tuner and full power memory back up. The correct EST (Eastern Standard Time) has been preset at the factory, so just plug the clock in and adjust the time zone as necessary. In the case of a power interruption, the built-in Lithium battery maintains the correct time so when the power returns you don't have to re-set the clock.

If they'll pricematch RCSS, it might be $19.99 there. I bought it at RCSS when it was half price.

It's not clear in the description, but this is an atomic clock. Great price for one too.

I dont think this is a true "Atomic Clock" which picks up the US Atomic time signal from Boulder Colorado and sets itself to syncronize its time from 2 to 6 times per day for ultimate time-keeping accuracy.
This Sony clock basically has a built-in factory programmed time/calender and time/date memory is maintained by the lithium battery built in.
There is no mention on any websites I researched that sell this clock radio that it is an "Atomic Self-Setting Clock", or that it has the Atomic Time Signal AM receiver/antenna built in.Last edited by montward; Dec 20th, 2007 at 09:28 PM.

They have this alarm clock at Walmart. My understanding is they will pricematch the other price.

I bought this one for about $14 at HBC a while back. It's not atomic set since it just has a battery that maintains the time from the factory. It did the daylight change fine, and it's a good basic alarm clock. The only bad thing is that the small dial to set the alarm setting to on is really flimsy and small so it's hard to tell if it's set right. You have to be careful to dial it in correctly. A small dot appears when the alarm is set so it's not a biggy. For $8, it's a great deal!
