I have the FE 85mm. Awesome lens, at a much more affordable price then the Batis or GM. Also much more compact. It's sharp, has good bokeh, and fast AF.

Unless you are professional and need 1.4 (and have the required funds), then just go with the FE.
I agree with ggweci. I have it and it's great!

I've been adapted for a good number of months now on my a7iii... Finally thinking of picking up a native lens mainly for video usage (nothing professional, but would like to do some personal travel stuff)

I don't really need stuff for b roll shots (and can probably just go with adapted lenses for those), but for documenting travel, I was thinking of getting something like a 35 or 40 prime? Nothing super fast... What do you guys recommend that's good for video? Bonus if it's a pancake lol

I recommend you go wider for travel video. 28mm or wider.

possibly even with 21mm converter https://www.sony.ca/en/electronics/conv ... /sel075uwc
But most importantly I'd recommend a gimbal. https://www.amazon.ca/Crane-V2-Brushles ... B01I2MWUOG
I personally stopped watching shaky cam travel videos, unless they are mindblowingly amazing. If that is too much of a kit, I'd recommend a phone on a gimbal or even a gopro7 black, which has tolerable stabilization built in.

Any thoughts on which flash to get for my a7 mark i? I want to do some nightclub/party photography, so any settings or tips would also be appreciated. Thanks!

Someone mentioned this rental place with lots of Sony options, but here's the link: http://lensshare.org/sony-fe-mount-lenses.html

Any flash with TTL support for Sony will do. Flash zoom is optional, but can be used creatively. I use this one: https://www.amazon.ca/Godox-TT685S-Thin ... B06ZYS4LC6

Thanks! I'll try out those techniques at PULP : art party on Sat, though I'll need to figure out how to use the Godox TT350s I just got to take regular pictures first lol

Also, renting the Sony 24-70 GM f/2.8 from Vistek. Looking forward to seeing what this "just a bunch of primes stacked together" zoom can do!

I’m looking at a used 50mm 1.8 Sony lens.

What’s a fair price to offer? Listed at $275.

So far I have the 2 kits lenses and was looking for something a bit quicker for low light. Loved my Canon 50mm 1.8 (which was significantly cheaper)

E-mount. For my A6000
I found one at Henry's used, can't remember if it was 8 or 8+, for $199. It is the APS-C E-mount with OSS. The FE (still an E-mount lens) doesn't have OSS, I guess they figure since all FF Sony cameras have OSS in the body, they didn't need to add it to the FE version of the lens. Came in great condition, the only thing that I didn't get was the box.

It has OSS

I’m not in the GTA and the local used/kijiji market doesn’t have much
