[Future Shop] Sony Vaio 14" VPCCW23FDW Notebook- cold, warm or hot?

Saw this notebook for sale at Futureshop for $999 with:

Intel core i3-330 M processor
4GB RAM
500GB HDD
Blu-ray drive
Nvidia GeForce 310M 256MB video card

What do you guys think?

this laptop really has no use...

not portable... or at least there are a lot better ones at cheaper price.
not desktop replacement...
not gaming...
too expensive for internet + word processing...
bluray is somewhat meaningless on laptops...

I really don't see any point in buying this laptop.

I really don't see any point in buying this laptop.
I actually use my laptop's bluray as my home's primary bluray player. Pretty easy to connect through HDMI. And 14" is pretty portable in my opinion..

But $999 seems pricey, can probably get a dell or HP with similar specs for around $800. But this is a Vaio and for people like my gf.. they're more than willing to spend $200 more for a "pretty laptop"..
My Rogers Plan: 250 DT, Unlim. inc., Unlim. E/W @ 8pm, 100 CDN LD, 100 txt sent/unlim. rec., CID/VM/Call forward & transfer = $15.90/month after all tax and fees.
