As usual, The Source inflated their price and made it look like a huge saving.
I don't have this but Amazon reviews indicate not very Winddows 7 friendly.

While this is certainly a cheap price, I'd avoid this deal. This router was NEVER $182, and certainly not within the last 4 years. I bought this router for ~$110 over 4 years ago. It served me well, and was a great router at the time, but is now well-dated. Here's a few issues:
- "Shareport" requires software to operate, can only serve 1 PC at a time (is not a NAS)
- It is not dual-band (only 2.4ghz range -- Microwaves, phones, and wireless mice/keyboards interfere)
- It has a few different versions, all called DIR-655, and one of them is no longer supported (unfortunately the one I bought). This means if you luck-out, you won't be able to update firmware.
I would skip this deal and take my chances with something else, a dual-band preferably.

The router constantly disconnected every half an hour or so after 2~3 years' usage. No firmware update, No solutions. Looking for a replacement router right now.

I probably have the same software version as I never see any updates for it. It's been running well without interruptions for many years.
If you think this works for you, buy it (beware: The Source website says it has a 3 month warranty), but I would suggest a router that's more current.

Not the best Router i'd rather wait until the EA2700 is like 50 bucks or even the E900 for $20.
The features are there but the performance isn't on DLINK anymore.

I have connection problems with my D-Link router, and if you do some googling you'll find that many people have quality related problems with D-Link routers. It's hit or miss, you may get one like jjj112 or you may get one like myself. I'd avoid D-link all together and save the possible hassle.

What modem are you using with your dlink? And have you try another Cat 5E cable.

This is probably the worst performing router in its class. Id stay away as recommendations before, i just threw mine in the trash after replacing it with an ASUS - night and day difference for wireless range and dual band is where you want to be these days. This probably has some uses as an access point however, but not as your main router.

I bought one few years ago and it has been the best router I had (compare to the crap back in the days). Few years after, recently I bought the same model but newer "revision", the quality is no longer there.

I'm all for the DIR655, rock solid router for me, and as others have stated 24/7 heavy usage and has never failed me. I'd get you the model number but i've since upgraded to a TP-LINK TL-WDR4300 N750. Dual Band but it hung on me the first day, seems okay thus far but really unsure now. Range is slightly better, but not by much.
