For those of you that missed the Galaxy Tab II at $149 you can get the previous version from the Source, albeit a display version.

Some say that this is better than the Tab II because of the faster CPU: 1.2 GHz vs 1.0 GHz. Comes with Android 3.2 Honeycomb - don't know if this can be upgraded.

Yes, it can be upgraded to 4.0 (ICS) but not Jellybean - at least not officially.

I just received both of mine. They are new in a unopened box. White backing plate,with no IR sensor on the side. Great deal! Also picked up the kindle book style case which is on clearance at the source. For $9.99, the galaxy tab 7 plus fits perfect. Ho! Ho! Ho!

Thanks OP. Just received mine. Brand new in mint condition. Does anybody know how to update to ICS? No ICS available OTA or through KEIS.

Got mine last week. It's mint condition, it's white, and doesn't look like it's ever been used. So I'm quite happy with the purchase

I received mine with a Sunday delivery. It's brand new too. Box has a circular sticker on one of the longer side, but not the other. I tried to open the box without cutting the sticker, but it wasn't possible. Opening the box reviewed a brand new tablet.

I need to somehow flash this to ICS now. I prefer an official build. Anybody knows how?

Hard to say. I'd spend a little bit more and get the N7 unless you need microsd support. It should be a lot faster.

Says nothing about it being a display model and even the older thread suggests that none of the units were display models.
Color me tempted as when I upgraded the Galxy Tab 2 to JB it sure made a big performance diff. Starts to make me question the Nexus 7 as a second tablet and consider Galaxy Tab 2 + Galaxy Tab Plus combo for the family running JB Cyanogen on both (if there is Cyanogen on the Plus)
