Yeah, wouldn't a generic 4-bay antenna do better for the same price?
Don't get a generic one as I have heard that the reception is not the greatest on them. Go with something from Channel Master like CM4221 or CM4228 and you'll see better results.

Calling it 'amplified' is pretty misleading, IMHO. Its basically just your run-of-the-mill omindirectional stick antenna, which naturally includes a little big of gain because of its physical dimensions.
FYI There is an inline amplifier that requires plugging in the A/C power adapter. This antenna is not omnidirectional at all, it should be positioned towards the broadcaster's transmitters. Is your expertise based on saying whatever you want without actually owning the product in discussion? Your posting would seem to be pretty misleading, IMHO.

Read the manual at least - http://www.voxxintlcorp.com/docs/common ... V55_OM.pdf

An RF Amplifier is a vital piece of equipment for improving your signal reception: it amplifies the signal from your antenna. They're only ~$35 at The Source and an excellent investment in equipment. http://www.thesource.ca/estore/category ... Amplifiers
According to the manual:

"This amplifier is not intended for use with outdoor VHF/UHF
antennas. For amplification of those signals, we recommend
our UFH/VHF/FM amplified couplers or mast-mount amplifier."

I don't have a tv in my room. If i were to buy this antenna and a TV tuner card for PC, would they work together?
I have an antenna hooked up to my pc tuner card and it works great. Mostly use it for pvr purposes but sometimes will stream live TV to my xbox with media center.

Thanks OP. I want to give this a try, but looks like only 4 left in BC according to the stock availability. Looks like I won't be able to grab one since I am at work.

Im also in montreal with a bowtie antenna.. I get
2 6 10 12 15 17 35 62 all with perfect reception just south of villeray. antennas are either on the mt-royal or around papineau/viger
If you live further away to the south of Mt-Royal, in addition to those, you can also get 3, 5, 33, 44 and 57 from the States which are usually better anyway.

Yup. The staff were really nice and didn't have any issues putting it aside.
