ur motherboard manual should tell you how to connect your 6 speakers (3 wires)
in your case, i'm guessing those three ports you have at the back are dual function, they can turn into output port thru software (many older boards also do the same when they don't have dedicated output ports)

SPDIF to 3.5mm?
Here's the problem.
I have a set of Logitech X-530s which uses 3.5mm plugs.
My motherboard Asus P5P800 says it has 6-ch audio. But it only has line in/line out/mic. It also has a RCA SPDIF out. Can I convert the SPDIF to 3.5mm jacks? Or is there supposed to be some other way of utilizing the 6-ch audio?
Thanks.

Can't convert digital SPDIF signal to analog output on 3.5mm jacks!
You should have a motherboard setup utility that switches the 3 jacks between stereo out/line in/mic in and FrontL+R out/RearL+R out/Centre+Sub out. Many motherboards also have an optional extra rear-slot panel with extra output jacks so you can have both 5.1 output and the input jacks at the same time.

A single 3.5mm does not support 6.1 sound anyways.

Pffht.

It only has line in, out, and mic.
Support for the 6 ch is software controlled.
You choose 5.1 channel in the software!
