TAIYO YUDEN DVD-R 4X 4.7GB 100 DISC SHRINK WRAP SPINDLE @ $48.98 sounds good. If only I was ordering something else to offset the $13 shipping.

KINGSTON VALUERAM PC3200 512MB 400MHZ DDR 184PIN DIMM MEMORY CAS3
link
what do you guys think about the kingston ram. I wanna get some 512 to add to my previous one and im not looking for anything special. So no over clocking something cheap yet still works reasonably well. Right now I have a King Max pc 3200 DDR 400. Would there be any compatability issues im not aware of?

Mar 9th, 2005 09:56 PM #4I'm not overclocking, but I do have my Samsung 2x512 memory set fairly tight in timing and no errors in memtest. It's only a few $$ difference, but still...

The price on the Taiyo Yuden 8x DVDRs is pretty good as well... I'm actually a little surprised by that one! (doesn't happen TOO often

Mar 9th, 2005 10:12 PM #10The really are sub-par. Not that interesting. I wish they made less of these, but better.

Mar 9th, 2005 10:16 PM #12Pfft, marketing... The demand for ram is low, so the prices have come down everywhere, not only at NCIX.

Yeah, I don't think these sales are to WOW customers and give them 50% off etc. It's just a nice little sale for people that were probably already thinking of upgrading their system and would like a few bucks off of something they were going to purchase anyway. That's how I've always looked at it myself. I usually won't look for a price that's so cheap I'll just buy it because it's cheap, I'll look if I was going to buy some ram or a video card anyway, and to save sometimes $10 or $20.

Mar 9th, 2005 10:38 PM #15Yeah I agree. I don't normally buy upgrades on a whim - I'm gonna look about for few days when the need arises and 90% of the time ncix has it at the right price and I'll have it as fast (or faster) than if I waited till the weekend to go buy it. I like that their sale comes out once a week.
