Good racket for starters... I would cut the factory strings and get it restrung if you want to serious learn. It will make the world of difference.

Given the price, you might be better off using TA and buying 2, two rackets is overkill for a beginner, but if you have a friend who needs a solid spare at small cost, great :)

I bought this for my son when it was $50. Ordered 2 more (one for myself and see if my nephew wants the other). My total was $90 after tax. Oddly shipping was not completely free. $20 charged for shipping and handling and $15 credit promo. Is there a $5 handling fee?

SportChek.ca has no French component so they can't actually service Quebec due to Bill 101 (Charter of the French Language). Up until fairly recently QC IPs couldn't even access the site. The QC online equivalent to SportChek is SportsExperts.ca but the promo isn't on there so you're probably out of luck for this deal.

restring the racket and you'll be fine. I would be able to use this as a backup at a provincial level. Strings can make the world of difference in a racket. Rest is really balance, flex, sweet spot and weight. With that being said, I'm sure Lee Chong Wei or Lin Dan could wipe the floor with this racket... so it's not about how expensive of 'good' a racket is, but how you control it. Keep in mind.. stringing this will cost another $20-40 (depending on the strings you get), but put on BG65 with a weight you are used to playing with... and you'll have a good racket for the price.

I was in such a rush to order and forgot about the extra 10% . Last time when it was $50, it sold out at 10:30AM and had to price match it in store. I didn't want to miss out on this amazing deal. It looks like it is sold out online now.
