They recently didn't honour my birk purchase, didn't even tell me. It was my first experience with them. I'm thinking retailers are starting to use this tactic to grow their lists.

Some nice deals on the ski pants but sadly not much for snowboarding. It's sad that they haven't figured out that snowboarding. Let's hope they not not bankrupt when they do figure it out. Luckily Fairfax has deep pockets.

Grabbed some solomon snow pants for half of what Last Hunt carries them for (different colour though).

Always good deals to be found. Added a few things for free shipping. May return some depending on fit.
I recall in previous sales, Sporting Life doesn't give a full refund. Apparently they give store credit so be wary.

Same here bought an item on sale and it took them a week to process the order. By the time they did process it the item was sold out. Their online inventory is also sitting on the shelves so if you place an order someone can walk in the store 2 days later and buy it before they process your order.

Never ordered from them again. Very shady business

anybody know if this is in store also?

The Tommy and Lefebve stores that they bought out in Ottawa used to have a warehouse sale about this time. wish they still had it.

Do you find there's an actual fit difference between the two or is it just a style thing?

Ski pants way tighter. Also the kids on the hill would be laughing at the boarder wearing ski pants.

Snowboarding is no longer the edgy, cool sport it once was so I wouldn't expect retailers to start bringing lots of snowboard related gear in. I've been boarding in HH ski pants for years as I don't like having a lot of excess material hanging around and no one has ever batted an eye. Those "cool snowboarder kids" on ther butts at the park judging people are now in their 30s with careers and families. More people are skiing these days. In fact I just picked up a full ski set for this season so I can ski with my young family starting this year. It's ok to do both nowadays, don't worry ;)

I have worn both and ski pants are nowhere near as comfortable nor is the padding in the correct places. Hey but wtf do I know I have been only snowboarding for 25 years.

For the record skiing was never cool except for a short stretch in the late 80s.

Good thing they did not advertise using UP TO.

Please by all means stick with what you like. I was just pointing out that snowboard specific apparel is somewhat of a niche market now so you probably shouldn't wait on mainstream retailers like Sporting Life or Sportchek to carry a large selection of what you seem to be looking for.

I was going to mention that the only "diehard" snowboarders out there these days are old guys from the 90s/00s but didn't want to assume (note: I am one of those guys). The days of "skiers vs. snowboarders" are long over, you can relax now. Also for the record, if you've been doing anything for as long as 25 years, it most definitely is no longer considered cool. I regret even using the word "cool" at this point...

For reference, some sale trend data over the last few years:
http://www.seattletimes.com/business/sn ... ool-again/
http://nypost.com/2015/01/23/why-snowbo ... opularity/

Anyway waay off topic: in summary don't worry about what the "cool kids" think, wear what you want...just get a good deal!
