SSD for older laptop........

RFD,

Need your input yet again :)

I've this older model Lenovo model 28472LF.

Wondering if that will accept a new SSD drive? As I dont know the specifics of SSD, I am thinking a S-ATA interface SSD drive might fit and I can proceed with installing Windows.

Not sure...........
Please thank me if you find this helpful

An MSATA wont fit.

OP, i looked up the specs. You are looking for a SATA2 drive. There are lots of these SSD's around. It will work and you will notice a large speed increase in applications and boot time.

To be safe, get a 7mm thick SSD (e.g., Crucial MX100) with a 9mm adapter just in case you don't know what height the laptop can accommodate.

I just replaced a bad HDD on an old Dell 1525 laptop with an SSD and it revived that old laptop nicely. The difference in performance is significant and it will serve well for my in-laws for basic email and browsing.

A great upgrade!
