Yes, as long as the new router has enough cpu power to translate vpn traffic and thus provide adequate speed for streaming.frankyflwrs wrote: ↑ Hi Everyone,
I’m totally new to using VPN and wondering if someone can help me with the following questions.
Currently, I am with Rogers using their Hitron (white tower) modem with built in wifi. All my devices are currently connected to this modem either via Wifi or Lan. I used the name "XXX" for this wireless signal.
My question is:
If I purchase another router and connect it to the Hitron(Rogers), and name the new router wifi "YYY", can I connect selected devices to YYY? I will use the new router for the VPN and connect only my Kodi and Smart TV to YYY...while my home computer and other devices are still connected to the Rogers XXX signal?
The purpose for this is to maintain security/speed/performance and not having to change the status (on/off) of the VPN all the time if using just the Roger Modem.
Does this make sense?
Thanks
The devices connecting to network YYY should not remember XXX in case they switch because of better signal or if YYY goes down.
