frankyflwrs wrote: Hi Everyone,
I’m totally new to using VPN and wondering if someone can help me with the following questions.
Currently, I am with Rogers using their Hitron (white tower) modem with built in wifi. All my devices are currently connected to this modem either via Wifi or Lan. I used the name "XXX" for this wireless signal.

My question is:
If I purchase another router and connect it to the Hitron(Rogers), and name the new router wifi "YYY", can I connect selected devices to YYY? I will use the new router for the VPN and connect only my Kodi and Smart TV to YYY...while my home computer and other devices are still connected to the Rogers XXX signal?

The purpose for this is to maintain security/speed/performance and not having to change the status (on/off) of the VPN all the time if using just the Roger Modem.

Does this make sense?

Thanks
Yes, as long as the new router has enough cpu power to translate vpn traffic and thus provide adequate speed for streaming.
The devices connecting to network YYY should not remember XXX in case they switch because of better signal or if YYY goes down.

Where do you enter the coupon code? I went all the through the purchase (just before the pay button in Paypal) and wasn't given an option to add the code. What am I missing?

edit: After signing up, I was able to see the link for the promo code.

Yup it was Rogers:
Voltage filed a request with the courts in 2016 to get Rogers (one of the “big three” telecom companies in Canada) to identify a single Canadian to be the representative defendant in the lawsuit. If legal liability is established for this one person, then the court will set fines for everybody else who pirated Voltage’s films. It’s not clear how many individuals will be swept up in the reverse class action, but a federal appeals court judge stated in May that Voltage had estimated “tens of thousands of suspected infringers.”

If Voltage Pictures succeeds with their "Reverse class-action suit" then any individual downloader can be fined in the same way that you can get a speeding ticket:
