I got the older version(older chipset) a few months back.
Newer ones supposedly run a *tiny* bit hotter, and the battery life isnt as good(about 45 minutes less) but you get a bump of +/- 10% in processing power.

The build quality is nice, though the buttons feel way too spongy. If you use it as a netbook(and i bet most people will. Windows mobile 8.1 is pretty meh) they're a non-issue.

Cool thing about this is its powered off a micro-USB port, so odds are you wont need to carry the adapter with you. If the power brick is less than 2 amps though, you wont be able to charge the thing while you use it(and if its only 500mah, you'll still drain the battery even while plugged in, albeit slower than if it was unplugged)

The biggest bottleneck on this is the 2gb of ram. Any media creation beyond word documents is not gonna happen(even editing pictures with paint.net is painful). You'll also want to get a microSD card to store your documents and files, keeping the internal memory for the OS and programs. If you plan on using it as a tablet, you might also want to consider a screen protector and a folio case(Nice one on eBay with magnetic closure and sleep function for around $15) since the screen is plastic, not glass.

May also want to keep your eye on ebay for refurbished units. I was able to snag mine for $300 from NCIX's ebay account. Other than a few scuffs on the back of the keyboard, it was good as new. You'll prob. only be able to get the older chipset, but honestly I prefer the longer battery life over a slight bump in processing power.

Most people who are interested in the T100 are not looking for a 'tablet only', they are most likely replacing Netbooks. Still think this is a good deal at 342.00 and gets good reviews... still on the fence if I should jump or wait :o . Want to replace Wifey netbook for xmas :)

The performance is terrible however :
To be honest, we've rarely been as aggravated by a Windows tablet as we were by the W20. AMD's A4-1200 (1 GHz) is no high-performance processor; after all, it was created to compete with Intel's first Atom generation for tablets. We already knew software wouldn't install lickety-split, programs would take their sweet time to load, and benchmarks would run forever before finally reporting low scores. That was true of netbooks with these processors as well (both Intel and AMD).
In the W20's case, however, program start-ups took up to 60 seconds (PCMark 8), some didn't run at all (3DMark 11, Anno 2070, Crysis 1), and some died the slow death of a perpetually black screen (Diablo 3). On top of all that, in the middle of testing we experienced memory errors (see screenshot, 3DMark 2013) and two serious crashes due to graphics errors (during 3DMark) forcing us to restart.

This Asus is a steal for the price, and especially so with the Staples coupon. Bought one for my wife last month when she wanted a portable computing option. I considered a Vaio or a Surface Pro, but in the end came back to the Asus. At less than $400, with keyboard AND full Office 2013 it was a no-brainer. Plus she's not too careful with her things, so it'll be less painful when she finally sits on the thing

We've had it hooked up via HDMI to our TV, and were able to stream online video with no problem. Bluetooth has been stable with all the devices I've tested with, including keyboards, mice, speaker, and headset. I have noticed that file transfers to/from the SD card cause the system to bog down. My wife reports also that the touchscreen is sometimes unresponsive when coming out of sleep, forcing use of the keyboard or a power cycle.
