Hello OP,

I have never purchased Gift Cards at a discount before, does that mean a $50 gift card would cost $40 at check out in this case?

Thanks

Sweats sale coming up, good time to stock up. Atleast 40% on the first day.

Correct, then you can take you gift cards to Roots as the payment method.

As @raccoon has kindly mentioned, every $50 Roots GC would cost you $40 total (no tax or admin fee).

Some retailers have the discount applied immediately at the register and some need to input the discount manually or via a SKU. Ensure the discount gets applied before paying.

I've yet to buy a GC from Staples. Does anyone know if the system automatically discounts the cards or does the cashier need to manually discount them?

BTW, the new Staples flyer is up on RFD Flyers and I've added the link in the main posting under the "Flyer Location" description.

Just bought two, the discount appeared automatically when she scanned them.

Roots also has $10 off your first purchase if you sign up for their newsletter. I signed up about an hour ago but still haven't received my coupon, though.

Is it bad that I want to buy every size salt and pepper sweatsuit for my baby?

The gift card rack is at the back of my local staples... a little sketchy but these ones have the PIN at least

Just in time! their anniversary sale is coming up, i'm guessing it will be August 17th this year as it's usually the second or third Thursday in August and since we haven't heard anything about the sale today, i'm assuming it is next week.
It's their 44th anniversary, in the past the discount reflected the anniversary date (i.e. 2015 it was 42% off to celebrate their 42nd anniversary) except last year it was 40% off so maybe the discount was getting too high and they're sticking with 40%.
Either way, thanks OP for the heads up!

For those buying the gift cards online, be mindful of shipping time. If you're thinking of using them for the anniversary sale, you might not get them in time. i would suggest you go to the store and purchase them there.

Wondering if there is expiry date? Shouldn't be, but making sure.
