[Staples] $330 Epson ES-400 Duplex Scanner

Looks like a good price if you need one. Reviews are good for this model, specially for pdf, less so for OCR.

Anyone ever use this ? Will it work for lots of receipts from restaurants ?

This is also at Amazon for the same price

Works great for receipts! (that's part of the reason i got one a while back) Even if the feeder scans it at an angle, the software auto-corrects the skew. Pretty fast too.

This scanner is awesome... super fast, and rarely jams, even with thin receipt paper.

The Epson software is pretty clunky, but not an issue unless you are using OCR.

Lowest price ever? Buy from Amazon or Staples? If I use different software, will OCR be any better?

Be advised that the Linux drivers aren't very good.

Would anybody know how this scanner compares to a Fujitsu snap scan?

a Fujitsu snap scan?
I bought one of the Fujitsu Scap Scan a few months ago and it is amazing how quick it scans vs my multifunction Brother scanner.

I haven't used this particular Epson but can highly recommend the Fujitsu one (although it is in the $600 range)
