The ram I would say doesnt significantly change the power draw. Now the 7200RPM vs 5400 RPM probably would suck more power... that being said the largest lose from the 9.5 rated hours would be YOU using it in a manor that wasn't the test setup, hence making it realistically maybe 7 hours tops.

Darn. I guess I can sacrifice some run time in exchange for better performance. Nothing is worse than waiting on hard drive thrashing.

Actually, this time it is not OOS. I just ordered 1 yesterday morning stacking 2 $20 coupons. And I just check, it is still available in the Ottawa area for ordering online. It is suppose to arrive sometime today, can't wait.

For those looking for coupon, there is another thread on Staples coupon and quite a few people post their unused coupon code that you can use. If you do use one, please post a reply indicating you have used the couple so others don't have to waste time.

After trying it out I was more agitated than not trying it so I decided not to purchase it.

I appreciate if somebody PM me a coupon that starts with 70941. The laptop has been triggering betewen available and OOS three times now, but as soon as I find a valid coupon it becomes OOS. Currently I have two valid coupons (hopefully), and only need one more, the problem with coupons that are posted in the forum, is you can't wait to use them, they usually last less than 10 minutes.

Staples is now very strict with coupons, their new policy will not allow coupons to be stacked if they have the same first 5 digits, they have yet to update their website to implement this new policy but soon they will. This explains why so many people got the website to accept the coupons but got rejected after a manual review by a rep.

You are absolutely right. It is a bilingual keyboard. I went to the local Staples and they said all of the 1000HE is bilingual, can anybody out west confirm this? Or if you purchase from NCIX, do they have English keyboard?

I am still deciding if I will keep it or not. It is for the kids mostly and they don't touch type yet but I am planning taking this for trips also.

NCIX 1000he is an english keyboard. And you have a choice of colors, black or blue. IMO, i don't think it is worth the time to find coupons to perhaps save $20, but to each his own. But if you really don't mind the extra symbols, just go with whatever is cheaper atm.

It isn't just the symbols... The enter key is in the "L" type format. It was annoying typing, I can't imagine doing it for hrs on end :P.

Received my 1000HE today, it is the international keyboard. Also visited a local staples to see if they had any "normal" keyboard 1000HE. They didn't so still debating on keeping it or returning and buying somewhere else.
