[Staples] Asus Blue Cave AC2600 Wireless Router - $99.99

Not sure if this is a price error or not but it seems like a pretty hot deal.
BestBuy currently has it for $180 on promo.

This has got to be the strangest router I've ever seen, even weirder than the ASUS UFO looking ones.

Good deal though, cheers OP.

A router with Trend inside it makes me turn around and run quickly but that's my personal preference

I have had this router for over a year and the WiFi speed is quite good on the 5GHz band - averages from 530mbps to 667mbps from my MacBook.

I truly don't understand ASUS.

One time is a UFO, another time it's an iron, and now it's a cheap dyson fan.

---

EDIT : I still don't like the design, but bought one! Will be still more discreet than a big ass black router at this price.

Amazing router (I use it in bridge mode) but wifi is very good on both bands,... previously I've used and switched from a RT-AC68U ...

I have Telus fibrer and the Actiontec T3200M modem, would something like this provide faster/stronger wifi? Or would those TELUS Boost Wi-Fi hub things be ideal?

I am pretty sure what Telus gave me is decent but not the greatest speeds and range is ok....$99 for this seems awesome.

Something like this with Google assistant/the parental controls this has would be dope.

WiFi coverage should be little better than from the 86U, but CPU is slower ...

According to tomsguide, this thing suffers in multiple storey homes, delivering 30% of available bandwidth onto the second floor.

For 30 bucks more, I'd go with the AC2600

Why the opposition to TrendMicro? I've seen them used in datacenters and in larger institutions. What am I missing?

Thanks,
Cal.

This doesn't do AiMesh... or does it?
It does do AiMesh, per Asus' website.
