Staples Benq MX522 projector $299.97

Ymmv on stock as always with staples clearance deals.

Xga 1024x768 res.
Hdmi input with 3d support for Blu Ray.
3000 lumens.

Many were asking for cheap projector deals before black Friday than never materialized, hope this fits the bill for some cheap Xmas home movies.

Staples still shows reg price on website but saw tag in store in Sherwood park East of Edmonton.

Gold luck.

$549.94 in my local store - that was the tag on the shelf and also what it scanned at.
YMMV - store specific?

Not sure if this is better or worse but I picked up a MW519 for $199.97 at my local Staples

Looking at the specs, it seems about the same - not quite as bright, the 522 is 3000 lumen vs 2800 of the 519... But otherwise seems decent? Gonna have a look to see if there's any available locally - not on their website anymore so can't check that way (although with phantom stock, it's hard to tell any way)

Yeah I did a little research and the MW519 has a few things the MX522 doesn't - 3.5mm audio jack, bigger zoom, manual focus and more component ports.

It seems like a pretty great value for $200, any way. Looking at your location... HRM = Halifax?

I did a bit of a search and didn't see any component inputs:

Computer in (D-sub 15pin) x 2(Share with component)
Monitor out (D-sub 15pin) x 1
Composite Video in (RCA) x 1
S-Video in (Mini DIN 4pin) x 1
HDMI x1
Audio in (Mini Jack) x 2
Audio out (Mini Jack) x 1
Speaker 2W x 1
USB (Type B) x1 (Download & page/down)
RS232 (DB-9pin) x 1
IR Receiver x1 (Front)

The main difference of "W" and "X" is the native resolution. "W" is HD (WXGA 1280x800) whereas "X" is XGA (1024 x 768).

W is preferable nowadays.

You use one of this to connect the component inputs via VGA D-Sub port ....

Its miles ahead of the mx522, you have done very well getting it at that price.

IMO no one should pay $300 for an XGA projector in 2015 (unless its strictly for office usage).

Would you happen to have the staples product sku/code for mw519 to check store stock?

btw, for older DLP projectors like the MX522 and MW519, 3D compatibility is limited to FS 3D (frame sequential) which is commonly called PC-3D.

For another $100 you can add a converter to convert FP 3D (frame packed) from your 3D BR player or 3D capable game consoles to FS 3D.
http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00JCJAF46

This negates the needs to use PC for 3D on these projectors.
