Stay away from Brother. I got one for free with the purchase of a router, and it has to be unplugged or will "clean" itself at 4am every day and blow through your ink supply in 3 weeks. Zero way to turn this "feature" off. The print speed is also about 10x slower than advertised, and Support won't talk to you until you go through the full registration process that involves everything short of background checks.

Sorry but you had one bad experience with a printer now you condemn them all?
I bought the Brother Wireless AIO (MFC-J435W) from BestBuy last December for $50. It works great. We use it to print all the time and it's still on the original cartridges. 8 months later. It's never been unplugged and I do hear it cleaning every other day (not at 4 am), so it can't be wasting the ink that much.
Not to mention that I was able to purchase an entire replacement set of ink for a total of $7 online. Good luck getting replacements that cheap for any other brand.Last edited by BobSagget; Jul 31st, 2012 at 08:31 AM.

I've been using the same Brother Inkjet for about 3 years now. I've also had no problems with it. I've had ink last almost a year in it, so it definitely doesn't blow through the ink. Also I agree with BobSagget in that you can be generic ink for it for under $10 which works great too. I may even check this deal out since mine has no wifi.

I bought this printer when it was around $50. I was surprised with the software included, once you set it up the way you like it, it was a breeze to scan pictures or documents to jpg or pdf. Just from a push of a button (or two), scanned files appear in the designated folder and pop up on your computer automatically. I've had the printer for about 6 months and am still on the sample ink cartidges, mind you I don't print that much, but there is no sign of dryed up nozzles. The scan feeder is awesome and has always worked, and scan quality is great for documents and so-so for pictures. The size of the printer is great.
The only downsides I can think of is that the paper holder doesn't hold that much paper, and it doesn't do automatic duplex printing. But I didn't expect it to do that for $50. I'll probably be heading there after work to get one for my dad.
