When considering US/CAD exchange, it's a good price for this particular model. Whether it's a good price for a 27" IPS is another matter.

I would spend a bit more and get 1440P.

Can't speak for this model, but over an year ago there were HP and LG 27" 1080p IPS monitors on sale for $199 from BB and Staples every now and then, so it's not a hot price at all in that context. That said, that was before our dollar crapped out and I don't see similar options at the moment, but I'd hold off or buy something better if you need a monitor ASAP.

So, well reviewed name-brand 27" IPS monitors for under $300 are now lame?
amazon.com reviews are very good

If it's 1080p, then yes. There was a 1440p 27 incher on sale for $300 a few days ago, that would be much better than this monitor.Captain Snazzypants wrote: ↑So, well reviewed name-brand 27" IPS monitors for under $300 are now lame?

Not much market at this price point I suspect. Most people who want a nice 27" monitor are going to get 1440p, and those who don't care so much are going to get something cheaper.Captain Snazzypants wrote: ↑So, well reviewed name-brand 27" IPS monitors for under $300 are now lame?
