I wonder what if we want to trade in for a printer priced less than $60. 8710 is out of stock but there is still a deal on 6962. It is 49.99 though.

Staples cancelled my online order as well... I had already gone in store and applied the coupons... They refunded me $78... I then went over to best buy and had them price match it for 129...

Just back from a Costco run... stopped to ask about the cartridge refill. Was told that they do NOT refill the starter cartridges and I have to purchase/have the regular cartridges (which can be refilled for $13.99 each). Anyone have experience with this?

Here is my shopping experience ...

1. Went to one Staples(Bureau En Gros, QC) store after finding online that it had stock of 4 but none on the floor when I was there.
The cashier checked its computer inventory which also listed as 4 and called the manager who later gave BS reasons of non-availabilty as he knew of the rebate.
2. Ordered online for pickup at another store and got confirmed with an email two hrs later.
3. Picked up that same day and requested for an adjustment for rebate. The shift manager asked me to return next day as Staples Online did not post my web order details in its system to process.
4. Returned next day. The manager adjusted by making a return for the online purchase ie cc refund in a few days from Staples Online.
He then made a new transaction without having to return/see the HP printer which I left in my vehicle. The total cost $12.92 ($1.25 EF+ taxes included) instead of $82.
Too bad, had to leave my old working dot-matrix printer (parallel port) behind Crying Face

Like to get another HP OJ8710 for a family member but so far none both online and at greater MTL stores as I happened to pass-by during my outing(s).
LIVE LONG and suffer ...

Kinda weird, If they are replacing the chips it wouldn't matter if they are starter cartridges or not. The starter cartridges can take the the same capacity as a standard cartridge. If they aren't replacing the chips then the printer will throw an error because they are "setups"
