Z2 Play is thinner, at 5.99mm Z Play is 7mm thick. Looks nice, but probably won't fit.
Ya I checked to see if that case would fit the Moto Z Play but it seems like it won’t.

I’m looking for a case that’s not so bulky like the Otterbox cases.

Admittedly cases for the Z Play are not in abundance. You can go with a generic TPU case for cheap, but personally I like better cases like Nilkin/Spigen etc.
I like the Spigen rugged armor or Speck Candyshell. Good balance between bulk and protection. Look at the Moto Z Force cases, they fit perfectly except they have no cutout for the headphone jack. Use a punch/drill to make a hole, that's what I did. I specifically ordered this one from Amazon USA: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01HC ... UTF8&psc=1

Outright is $500. Activate and cancel on medium tab is $360.

The A5 looks pretty good. I get average 10 hours screen on time with the Z Play, from my research the A5 gets around 8-9 hours. Still really great.
But it's also waterproof and has a FM radio. The Z play is only splash proof with no radio.

One minor concern is battery degradation. Which Samsung phones have suffered from in the past. I read they are trying to fix this with the s8 series... https://www.androidauthority.com/galaxy ... ly-760485/
Also: https://www.reddit.com/r/GalaxyS8/comme ... ear_claim/
Using Accubattery, my Z Play after a year of use actually shows 3560mah or 101% health.

which one is the better deal? $359 for the moto z play or $469 for the moto z?

Moto Z has a top end processor, but almost half the battery life.

Moto Z if you are a hardcore 3D gamer/VR user
Moto Z Play if you are anything else

The speed difference is ONLY noticeable with 3D games (like first person shooters). Other games run just as fast on the Z Play with remarkably better battery usage.
Also, get the Moto Z if you ever plan to use VR. Z Play is not for that.

Oh right, the only bumper case that's compatible with mods is the Verizon bumper, but that gets sold out real quick.

Also I can't find a Wireless Qi Charging backplate case for the Moto Z Play in Canada. Don't really want to import it and pay duties. If anyone knows where to get one locally, let me know.

No FM radio...!
That just made up my mind for me. I almost ordered this, but thankfully I read this post.

So a removable back plate is not included in the retail package?

The Moto z has a usable camera...that's the big difference

The camera in Moto z is much much better and the processor in Moto z allows hdr+ photos with reasonable processing time

I have the Z Play, honestly it's worth it.

Do you guys really need the best camera and the fastest one on the market? Probably not.

What good is the best camera and the fastest processor when you no longer have the battery life to do anything on your phone?

I love the Z Play because the battery life is pretty good, although be aware - while I used to be able to get 48 hours of usage without recharging, they did release an update when the newer Moto Z Play came out, which directly/indirectly caused the older versions to use up more power. Whether for nefarious reasons or not..just a FYI.

The battery life is still pretty good as is.

This morning, Staples sent me a 10% off coupon. I got all excited, but then realized that the Moto Z Play is available online only and the coupon is in-store only.

I'm getting an expected shipping date of November 6th. If that's actually the case, Staples seriously needs to revamp their system.. that's atrocious, I live downtown in the biggest city in the country.
