Staples NEW 110% Price Match Policy NOW ONLINE
http://www.staples.ca/ENG/Static/sta...icy_pricematch
Here are the highlights of the changes:
We will match it and give you 10% of the difference as a credit to your purchase (maximum $50 credit)!
So they are still limiting it to a $50 credit. It'll take a $500 difference to get that anyways, so highly impossible.
If our competitor has a bonus offer with an item that we carry, we will match the competitor’s price and provide the identical bonus item where possible. If our competitor offers a free Gift Card with an item that we carry, we will match the competitor’s price and provide the same valued Gift Card
Staples now matches free gifts such as gift cards. I wonder if this applies to the cell phone offers that FS and BB offers?
An identical item is a product with the same manufacturer and manufacturer part number.
This means a lot of PMs might be denied with FS/BB becuase they don't have the same manufacturer number on their website.
From time to time, our catalogue, internet and store prices might temporarily not match due to printing press deadlines. If this happens, you will get the lowest price of the three. We will not offer the additional 10% credit.
This means that we won't be able to get extra 10% if their B&M prices are not as updated, and so some people wouldn't be lucky and be able to price match their own online price.
The price guarantee does not apply to competitors advertising that states “limited quantities”, “while supplies last”, “clearance”, “close-outs” or “bankruptcies”.
No more PMs towards LIMITED QUANTITIES, CLEARANCE, etc., even if they have it in stock. This means a lot of PMs will be denied.
We do not match typographical errors in competitors’ advertisements.
This means if Futureshop makes a mistake again then we won't be able to earn $15 from that Logitech Media Keyboard :P

So does that mean staples will not PM 110%.. but only give u the bonus item/gift card????

No, it means that if the competitor's price is lower AND they have free gift as well, they will give you the match PLUS that particular gift or an equivalent. If the price is the same but a gift is offered, then they will just offer you the gift and no price match (because the price is the same anyways).
