Bit defender will be 24.99 on boxing day and I agree it's does a much better job then Norton.

As for Norton 360, correct me if I'm wrong but I believe it now requires you to enter a credit card number.

$30 more for 3 years... I think that checks out just fine. Doesn't it??

Maybe I'm just lucky but I have no issues in the last few years just using the Windows 10 built in security features.

I am the same, but for people like my Mom who is not that technologically inclined, this helps more than the Windows Defender.

I would 100% get this instead. I have been using this version for a few years. Recommend the unlimited user 2 yr version if you have a lot of devices.

The one I linked to is 3 years for 5 devices. So definitely better in terms of pricing.

No credit card number is needed. I have used Norton and prefer it for its low system usage and other things.

I have also used Norton Security in the past without credit card info but If you look at the upper banner on the Norton 360 package, it states "Credit card or Paypal activation required for activation and use"

https://www.amazon.ca/NEW-Norton-360-De ... 790&sr=8-3

BUT apparently, you can remove the credit card number after successful activation.

Yes indeed. IMO Norton has shot themselves in the foot over this. 100% you need a CC to activate the product even though you have paid for the year (or more) upfront. If you fail to notice the "fine print" on this good luck on returning it.
If you neglect to remove your CC information they will automatically renew your subscription. Plus who wants their CC info sitting there waiting to be hacked, don't laugh - Life Lock recently got hacked. I'm a long time Norton user who just switched to Bitdefender. So far so good, I like the UI and as long as it performs as well as Norton then it will get my continued support. No CC required to activate and comes highly rated by online reviews.
