Staples online purchase return policy

Hi,
Can I return or exchange a notebook purchased online (with some Staples coupon discounted)
to the local store ? Just want a heads-up before heading to store.

I bought a printer online and returned it to the local store with no problem. Note that there is a very limited time allowed for returns, especially computer stuff. Read the policies online.

I returned some items in store before that was purchased online. I was told you can call them and they will come and pick it up but for me I pass in front of a store everyday so I just drop by. Never had any issues.

I think one time there was a coupon and they just refunded me the item they didn't know what to do with the coupon. but I had other items on the receipt that I kept.

That's correct. They'll send their delivery truck to pick up the item(s) at no cost to you. Then a few days later you'll get a credit on your credit card. Normally that's what I'd do and what I've done a few times.

In this case, because it's a notebook, I'd probably go to the store in person. The reason is that once the truck takes the notebook back you have no recourse if a Staples tech claims there's damage or that you modified the system in some way that violates the warranty, etc. At least in the store you can show the clerk that the item is working and have them "sign off" on the return.

That's happened to me before as well. However if there were no other items then they'll refund what you actually paid (after applying the coupon.) They can't/won't issue a new coupon, at least not when I had this situation a few years ago.

There are major retailers accepting gift exchange/ return up until first week of January for purchases made as early as late Nov, 2011.
Anyone knows if Staples offer that?
Their standard return period is 30 days.

Bought a Garmin GPS on last Dec 3rd doorcrasher, used it over the holidays for the first time, found the unit to be inferior . Just came back in town, wonder if I can still return it?
