memoryexpress had it for $99 when they opened a new store a few weeks ago.
atm, i think the best price is $109
staples in my area is usually very good at pm'ing.. my closest fs is a hassle though, they always argue about the online retailer (dell in most cases), they always try to tag on s/h, and the usualy "forget" to add the 10% difference off, unless i remind them.
moral// not every store is the same, they should all follow the same rules, but a few choose not to; best to just go to another store and try your luck.

Staples Price Match policy (on WDTV)
I went to my local Staples to price-match a WDTV player.
The lowest price I found was in TigerDirect $119.97. The first clerk agreed to do it, but needed a managers OK. After waiting for him to show up, the manager tells me they will not match website pricing. WHAT?
Here's there policy, it specifically states they will match any advertised price from an ad, be it a print ad or a website.
http://www.staples.ca/ENG/Static/sta...icy_pricematch
Regardless, TD has a concrete store, so just PM the damn thing. After arguing about that, the manager explains that it is up to individual stores to determine the exact policy on price-matching. Ok. Then why bother to have a pricematch guarantee statement on your website to begin with if it doesnt apply universally to all stores? After arguing, the mngr agreed to PM Costco for $129.99. What about my 10% difference? It doesn't apply in this case he tells me, because it is a computer/electronics related product. WTF?
I just set my basket with $100-$150 worth of stuff + WDTV on the counter, turned around and walked away from the store.
Has anyone had this happen to them? Was I in the right or was I asking for too much?
PS. What is the lowest WDTV price nowadays? Who has the best deal? I'm looking to buy WDTV right awya

I had them not honoring 10% before, but I really wanted the item so I just bought it, sat in my car in the parking lot and called corporate. I told her that this store wasn't following their policy and she said she would give the store manager a call. Went for a cup of starbucks and walked back in and gave a smug look at the manager and got my 10%. That was easy

There's actually an old thread on RFD regarding online price matching with Staples.

Staples is the worse for price matching. I have never successfully price matched anything in-store or on-line. They always seem to give you some crazy, non-sense, that even makes themselves wonder what they just said. Even when you show BB or FS ads they refuse to match.
The worse things lately are that when you walk into the store, they seem to expect that you are a RFD follower and are scheming to rip them off somehow.
I used to spend $6000 every year for the last 5 years at Staples, with the exception of this year and 2008. Now its more convenient and less frustrating to shop direct with manufacturers like Dell, HP, and even FS, BB, and NCIX. Staples sucks and so do their employee's attitudes and competence.
