I almost bought one of these, but I didn't because I don't think it qualifies for Instant Ink. The HP site's "Check to see if your HP printer works with Instant Ink" only lists the following in terms of Envy 5000s:

  • HP ENVY 5050 Series
  • HP ENVY 5530 Series
  • HP ENVY 5540 Series
  • HP ENVY 5640 Series
  • HP ENVY 5660 Series

I assume the 5010 is not part of the 5050 Series.
I think it's not listed just because it's BB "exclusive" model.

If you look for supplies for the 5010 on HP Canada website you get "instant ink" vouchers:
https://store.hp.com/CanadaStore/Merch/ ... rinter-Ink

Also specs says it comes with instant ink cartridge as well as "instant ink flyer" inside the box
https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c06151433

Furthermore BB US lists the exact model as "instant ink" ready printer.

HP support team confirming its instant ink ready in reply to a question on BB website:

Bought one and aFter two months started to have E2 errors. Spoke with hP and after an hour of troubleshooting they said it's broken and sent a new one. Anyone else have reliability issues with their HP?

The 5010 isn't listed on US site either, I would select 5050 series just to start the setup, once the printer is up and running it will be picked up off your network during the actual setup process.

Update 1/3/19: 2655 still on sale for $30 at the Source, 3833 on sale for $40 at BB.
Bb has a 5010 for $50? I’m not sure what the difference is.... there are two many models and this one isn’t even listed in the hp site

Edit: I saw the posts above... nevermind

3833 is supposedly an "office" intended printer, bigger footprint, bigger capacity tray, auto-feeder for the scanner and bigger memory. the 5010 is more oriented towards "home" (supposedly a photo printer) with a slimer profile.

That Costco printer is a hot price, but I hate running out to Costco (especially this late in the game) and usually walking out disappointed because they sold out.

Now debating if the Source one or the BB 5010 is a better buy. I'd assume the 5010 will do a better job with the occasional photo.

Did you notice if they have a lot? I'm not able to get over there till about this time tomorrow but don't want to waste a trip if they'll be sold out.

I've mentioned this before early in this thread....and I willl reiterate that this is my subjective view of the output of these printers. I have both the Costco deskjet as well as the Envy 4520,
https://m.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/product/hp-h ... 0/10395597
(Btw, which looks very similar to the 5010 though I haven't looked into the actual difference s between the two) and both on Instant Ink.
When printing on higher grade or premium photo paper, the Costco prints looks slightly sharper, to my eyes. But most may not see the difference. With cheaper photo paper, both printers produce "muted", less vibrant photos... though the same can generally be said about most consumer printers when using average or lower quality paper.
The Envy models look sleeker if that's important to you. However, I prefer the simple button layout of the Deskjet, and find the touchscreen of the Envy a bit more cumbersome. My $0.02 Grinning Face

Why not call and ask ? from the picture SKU is 1113634 (depending on location some might actually put one on hold for you, others decline and say you need to get there and pick whatever is on the floor). But either way they will do the inventory check for you without an issue.
