[Staples] YMMV: Logitech G402 gaming mouse $30.18+tax

For anyone looking for a decent mouse, Staples currently has Logitech G402 on clearance,
it's marked as $40.17, with additional 25% off clearance discount, it eventually became $30.18
It's actually a very good gaming mouse with up to 4000DPI, the only downside of this mouse is it's a right hand mouse

price breakdown:
$40.17
-25%
Final price: 30.18+tax

FYI: I picked mine on staples in Montreal

Damn, that’s even cheaper than that Amazon sale on these things.

I got mine during then, but they damaged the packaging (looked like someone tried to punch a hole with a screwdriver or something, no clue what actually happened) in transit so they gave me $10 refund for that, making it $26.81 before taxes for me.

It's on clearance because Logitech had announced new versions with the Hero Sensor for all their main gaming mice lineup.

I'd recommend waiting. The Hero Sensor is really, really good and tracks like a dream.

I way prefer this mouse over the g502 or g600. Very comfortable size for the palm grip, lasted several years with occasional drops.

Just under $50. I can't decide whether to keep the g602 or buy the mxmaster. I'm also using an old m705.

How do G402, G502 and G602 compare against each other?

I recently got a g603 from Amazon during the Lightning sale. This thing feels so plastic-y compared to my old g500s.

Dat battery life and tracking tho...

Haven't used the G602, and I've only bought wired mice. All have sensors and sensitivity configurations beyond what any non-pro gamer will want.

G402 has been my most favourite mouse of all time. Significant improvement over the average office mouse I used to use. Repurchased it after I broke my first one, both of them performed reliably until I dropped them once too often. Very comfortable, scroll felt smooth (plus you can "unlock" it for free-spin scrolling), macro buttons on the side were recognized by most applications, and accuracy was great (I'm no pro, but I play games quite a bit).

G502 performs well, but feels cheap and is significantly smaller than the G402. I have slightly above-average hand size, and ended up giving it to my girlfriend because it was too small, but she doesn't really like it either.

Ended up ordering the G600 as it's larger and the G402 was discontinued (and remaining ones I found online were way overpriced). Works well enough, but the macro buttons on the side are not as useful or reliable as I'd hoped, and the "third mouse button function" system takes a while to get used to.

I highly recommend the G402 if you can get one.

I've used a G402 for 3 years with no issues at all. Great mouse.

OP probably grabbed the last one in Montreal. I called Staples and they said there's none in the area. Oh well I hope the MX Master from BestBuy will ship at least :)
