So far, we've only been given the Emperor's perspective, which seems to be focused on betrayal (lover, rule if empire). I would not be surprised if his motivations are more complex.

His prime universe story of destroying his ship (USS Buran) will, I expect, be interesting. I suspect that the ships switched universes, and that it is somewhere in the mirrorverse (with the real Lorca).

Looking forward to seeing how this plays out.
I'm definitely enjoying the show much more now than the onset.
There's no way MU-Lorca can continue to be the Discovery's captain with what he has done. Either they kill him off or he becomes a recurring villain character like Dukat on DS9.

You are likely right.
I still believe there is a possibility.

I guess it will all boil down to why he wanted to take out the Emperor.
Is there not a glimmer of hope that he might be doing this for reasons beyond wanting to rule himself?
Depending on what he was up to in the MU, he might have critical reasons to return at all costs.

So far, the only person aware about Lorca is Burnum. Depending on what happens next, it is possible she might decide to keep it to herself (should there be good reasons for doing so). It would be consistent with her character, who was willing to commit mutiny to follow her convictions.

This show has really enjoyed messing with our expectations, and I feel this could be another such case.

Are there still movie directors in the 23rd century?
That's a very forgiving occupation (from what I've heard)

The writer of the most recent episode lays out the homework for the long chain of titles introducing the Emperor in a slideshow at CBS

Any chance Normal Lorca is alive? Maybe they switched places and he was hiding out in the mirrorverse.

Probably hiding out with Mirror Burnham.

And that in itself does surprise Trekkies, and not in a good way.
Saru: "Specialist, have you seen any more Kelpians? I know we've discussed this before, but surely you MUST have run into at least one..."
Michael: *burps* "......".

Weeks later, Saru wakes up to her chewing on his arm.

Michael: "Commander Saru, as you are well aware, this does not violate Starfleet General Orders".

Saru: "Yeah, they really didn't think this kinda thing would come up...".

I wonder if they will turn this into the new Fringe. At the end of the season, they return from mirror universe, only to find that they're in a new universe altogether.

Or, what if what we all thought was wrong and they were never from TOS universe to begin with. Then, after spore drive jumping to alternate universes, they end up permanently in Kirk and Spock's TOS universe. Not that I think it's going to happen. Just fun ideas to toss around.

Well.. they solved the Lorca situation pretty quickly, left no chance for a comeback either. Still disappointed they couldn't pull the doc back somehow. Let see how many episodes the emperor last!

spoilers.....

lorca kind of fell apart going into the heart of the spore sphere thing. maybe he didn't die but got sucked into it, or alternatively maybe he did die, but we encounter the other version of him?

I had also assumed maybe we'd run into the doppelganger of the doctor.

They should've reused the 60's Trek fight music

I can't see myself being satisfied with how the show wraps up with only two episodes left

Seems like he is pushing daisies. Man - I was really expecting (more like hoping) more with him.

Can anyone clarify - did I imagine it, or did they not specify (when we first entered mirror verse) that the mirrorverse Discovery switched places with ours?
