Don't know too much about TOS stuff either....

The events of Talos IV in The Cage happened in 2254 while this finale should be 2257. While Kirk won't begin his stint as Captain of the Enterprise some 9 years later, Spock should be on the Enterprise in this finale.

I hear ya. I liked the episode, but something felt kinda rushed.
All this Hoopla with the Klingons, all wrapped up with a speech.

I guess I was hoping for something with non mirror Lorca.

Cool seeing Enterprise, which presumedly would have both Pike and Spock on board.

None at all. Like has no one else thought of doing that before? Also, why would the rest of the Klingon cast allow her to become ruler? Wouldn't they be highly suspicious that she was just a Federation captive for a while?

The more I think about it, the more I dislike the conclusion. Everything was way over rushed and really made very little sense.

Yes I agree...

The flip side of the argument would be that the Klingon girl saw how resourceful the humans are and she realized that the humans were smart enough and brave enough fighters to have the Klingon's at their knees and within 1 second of defeat although no other klingon was privy of this, she is high enough in rank to be able to prove it/communicate it.. So she saw the light and realized: 1, the klingon houses cant go around doing their own thing.... because of the non-unification of her people, she saw what it lead too... the destruction of her home world. 2 +++ she got Vog/human back whom she is in love with and would bring her people together which is what Vog wanted.

The Klingon/Fed war that Vog wanted to start was to unify the klingons under one banner.

But yes, I agree though that it was so easy for the Federation to plot a jump course into Qonos land, and then drop a bomb into a volcano that would destroy the entire planet.

How on earth did I miss this?

Klingons - two of everything
“Star Trek” shows like “The Next Generation” and “Voyager” have established that Klingons evolved numerous anatomical redundancies, including two livers, an eight-chambered heart, and two stomachs. Unsurprisingly, science fiction fans being what they are, Trekkers have long speculated that this means Klingons have two of everything. Yes, we mean speculated that they have two penises.
The away team finds themselves at what is essentially a Klingon bar-slash-casino-slash-brothel, where everybody is drunk, losing money, and yelling at each other. As the group walks down a dark street they pass a drunk Klingon urinating on a building. The shot pans down to show two distinct streams hitting the wall — essentially confirming that Klingons are, ah, doubly endowed.

Yes, we mean they apparently have two penises.

Saw it. Thought about it for a brief moment. Decided to wipe it from memory.

Ignorance is bliss!

Perhaps this is best kept a mystery, like the 3 shells from "Demolition Man".

Having Clint Howard as an Orion was awesome. If only he'd have been drinking Tranya instead of inhaling vapes.

My problem is with Enterprise showing up. Don't they have enough confidence for the show on it's own, that they bring in Enterprise?
I know it showed up on DS9 as well, but at least that was well into it, not season 1.

Canada, Eh!!
Bit anti-climatic and not as interesting as previous couple of episodes BUT looking fwd to meeting with Enterprise.

Based on the preview commercials expected a no holds barred Phillipa battle in space!!

Did I miss something while watching commercials for this episode... thought it showed Voq [in star fleet body] being vapourized or similar?? Maybe it was just a fast scene showing transporter??
2022/3: BOC raised 10 times and MCAP raised its prime next day.
2017,2018: BOC raised rates 5 times and MCAP raised its prime next day each time.
2020: BOC dropped rates 3 times and MCAP waited to drop its prime to include all 3 drops.

I mostly enjoyed the series but felt the finale was kind of lackluster. The series basically skipped the Klingon war. Michael started it (allegedly, I'm not convinced) and ended it. We missed most of the middle, and the way it was resolved seemed kind of rushed, just to get it out of the way.

It really did seem like the wanted to wrap everything up so they could go a different direction in S2. I'd say the finale was my least favorite episode of the season. Seemed very anti-climatic to me. Also seemed kind of fortuitous to have the Enterprise show up at the end. Still, it could be cool to see a Captain Pike led Enterprise. Given they he was only recast for the movies not a long ago (same with spock), the recasting-casting will be interesting.
