Having Clint Howard as an Orion was awesome. If only he'd have been drinking Tranya instead of inhaling vapes.

My problem is with Enterprise showing up. Don't they have enough confidence for the show on it's own, that they bring in Enterprise?
I know it showed up on DS9 as well, but at least that was well into it, not season 1.

Canada, Eh!!
Bit anti-climatic and not as interesting as previous couple of episodes BUT looking fwd to meeting with Enterprise.

Based on the preview commercials expected a no holds barred Phillipa battle in space!!

Did I miss something while watching commercials for this episode... thought it showed Voq [in star fleet body] being vapourized or similar?? Maybe it was just a fast scene showing transporter??

I mostly enjoyed the series but felt the finale was kind of lackluster. The series basically skipped the Klingon war. Michael started it (allegedly, I'm not convinced) and ended it. We missed most of the middle, and the way it was resolved seemed kind of rushed, just to get it out of the way.

It really did seem like the wanted to wrap everything up so they could go a different direction in S2. I'd say the finale was my least favorite episode of the season. Seemed very anti-climatic to me. Also seemed kind of fortuitous to have the Enterprise show up at the end. Still, it could be cool to see a Captain Pike led Enterprise. Given they he was only recast for the movies not a long ago (same with spock), the recasting-casting will be interesting.

This article from nerdist captures the highs and lows from the season.
Let’s be completely honest: Star Trek has never been the most visually stunning of sci-fi franchises. No Trek fan has ever topped their list of favorite elements of the franchise with a commendation of the special effects. But Discovery is maybe the first Star Trek series to truly take advantage of a decent SFX budget. In fact, the series holds up even to the recent slew of Star Trek feature films. Whatever else I might think of this show, it consistently looks gorgeous.
To that end, the show relies on surprise twists and deus ex machina plot contrivances way too much. The fact that the final episode of the season found the resolution to the season-long Klingon war, which is described as having nearly devastated the Federation to the brink of collapse, by having a character drop a doohickey down a well is, I must say, pretty laughable.

As a longtime Trek fan, I like that the updated USS Enterprise still looks like the original Enterprise, unlike that Jar Jar crap. Mind you, I haven't seen the inside yet :D .

Reminds me of much I enjoyed that DS9 tribbles episode, mostly because I felt they did a good job capturing the look of the original series.

I hope the cathode ray tube screens have been retrofitted with plasma at the very least.

What is that Borg thing? The never had those in the original. Hopefully there is not some lame storyline where one of the Drs Soong created the Borg by mistake coming.

It's odd how she's making a speech at the end, and the admiral just goes on and promotes each member in between words - is CBS so opposed to making star trek beyond 44 minutes?

Dax and Worf must have had one hell of a sex life. No wonder they were always breaking each other's bones and stuff...
On the other hand, maybe each works differently. "This is my rifle, this is my gun. One is for fighting, one is for fun".

Reminds me of Mallrats, where Brodie is asking Stan Lee questions.
