"STARON" countertop
Hi does anyone out there have a countertop by STARON..?they are like corian by dupont. i need to know how you like it . We are thinking of putting it in , or granite and i need to know IF anyone actually really likes this.

If I remember correctly, if its not Corian then its a knock off as Dupont has the trademark or rights to the Corian term. Now thats not saying this stuff is bad , I have never heard of it.

Actually, Dupont's patent exclusivity on Corian lapsed last year. Staron is exactly the same as Corian but at a fraction of the price.

The term Corian is a registered trademark, as is Staron. They are both acrylic surfaces.Staron is a Samsung product, Corian a Dupont product.
When we were looking at counters, we found Staron to have a nicer range of colors. Somehow the colors look warmer and have less of a plastic feel. We ended getting quartz, but Staron made the shortlist over Corian.
