I'm not sure what to make of these changes so far. I have not received an email from Start yet, so it looks like no price discount or change to my current plan....

I have a legacy plan for $39.99 (20/10, 150GB/month) I have been going over the cap for the last 6 months or so by a bit, but the $0.25/GB overage fee is far cheaper than paying another $10/month to upgrade the plan.

The new plans I see are:
$40 for 15/2 and a 200GB cap
$50 for 40/10 and Unlimited
$65 for 60/10 and Unlimited (big price jump for this IMHO)
$85 for 120/10 and Unlimited (another big price jump IMHO)

So... it looks like I can get a speed decrease and an extra 50GB cap space for the same price... yippee...

If I want to go unlimited, this is a bit better though... but as I recall, I think unlimited was just $10 more per month anyway... so... same price for unlimited but faster speed (40/10 vs 20/10)

Congrats to those of you getting price decreases and/or speed/bandwidth increases!

Hmm I wonder if the unlimited is effective right away instead of feb 1st. When I check my account usage it doesnt state the limit anymore and % used..

Just wondering if my older modem will handle the 40gbts? Thought you had to upgrade the modem for the higher speeds?

on 40/10 but how do you know it's unlimited?

I thought the cap is going to remove on Feb1.

If you check the account usage it used to say 300gb now it doesn't say that anymore. It also doesn't say you are using__% of your limit.

I don't see this plan on their website for Ottawa 40/10/unlimited @$50. Do you see it for your region or is this an email only thing for now?

Just signed up for the UL 60/10 for $65 per month. Cogeco can now go pound sand!

Does anyone know how the internet service transfer works? I have tv and internet service with cogeco but I've put in for a cancellation date/ start.ca service start date of end of January. I guess I'll need to call cogeco and cancel the TV service but tell them I'm doing an internet service transfer to start?

give lots of head for sick knee fadez, give lots of lap dances for ca$h wallet fades. Always pop that leg when kissing for dope honey combs, knee lots of mans in the crotch for killer whiskers, low ride like an og for them stacks. And traintracks? Only achievable by a legend in the denim game

Looking to consider switching from Cogeco 250/20 to this Start 120/10. I am at the border of Oakville/Burlington. I would love to hear some advices.

cogeco 250/20 has been stellar for me, no blackouts, no drop, I am not complaining. As of late, I however don't seem to fully utilize this 250/20, I think Start 120/10 should be okay, fast enough when I really need, AND would save me ~$35/month. I wish Rogers were here. Bell only offers 50mbps, and I honestly do not want to go with Bell at all.

Anyway, I would love to hear experiences from people in the area (Oakville/Burlington). Actual vs Advertised speed? Blackouts?
What about modem to buy? Which one does everyone buy, if I sign up for 120/10. Would a Rogers Hiltron work with it?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks!!!

Interesting. Ebox never got back to me to schedule an technician visit and upgrade me to 50/10 DSL. Maybe it's a sign to switch to Start.

Maybe I should await your experience with 120/10. :)

lol
I heard generally good experience around, but need to know what the service is like in this area.
I am thinking, considering it is running off Cogeco line, should be similar service? no downtime/blackout? throttle - despite unlimited?
