If you don't know yet, steam started to charge for mod in their workshop like skyrim. It has caused an internet sh*t storm on reddit... The thing is the mod authors only gets 30% and steam and publishers get 70%. And many mods have been removed from Nexus (where you can download for free) so they can sell on steam workshop, and some mods start to add nag post if you don't buy it. Also you start to see mods like fishing in skyrim for $2.99...

Well having never played it before. I am impressed with the gameplay for 5.49! It is a cool game at a good price.

As far as mods, I've never played any SKYRIM mods to date!

cheers

25%/75% actually, but you're right on all other accounts. I see a lot of people blaming Valve but Bethesda is equally, if not more, to blame. There's a lot more issues relating to this whole controversy which you can read below;

As always, if you don't support something, vote with your wallet since it's the only to get their attention. Just putting this out there so people know what's going on.

Yup.... I stopped buying a LOT of games when they started doing half-assed DLC(and in some cases stripped content out of the game so they could later sell as DLC) This is just one more step down that dark alley.
The outcry this time *might* be enough to get steam to reign it in. Esp. since the guys behind Nexus are getting really vocal.
Then again, we all remember how the idea of paying $2.99 for horse armour was seen as ridiculous... And that clearly didnt stop other frivolous cash-grab DLC. Difference is now instead of armour for your horse, its high-res genitals( :facepalm: ), and only 50% of the money goes to bethesda.

There is also a petition against the monetization of modding that has almost 122,000 signatures in just 3 days or less. https://www.change.org/p/valve-remove-t ... m-workshop General concensus on the Reddit forums indicated that a vast majority are hoping that a donate button system can be implemented instead, for the Steam Workshop mods.

Edited to add: Steam has since removed the pay for mods feature in Skyrim... http://steamcommunity.com/games/SteamWo ... 5253244218

Legendary = Regular + DLC x 3.

The base game is absolutely incredible. It sucked so many hours out of my life.

The DLC's however are less then stellar, really a let down compared with Oblivion and Knights of the 9 xpac.

There's so much more story that could be had in this game that it's really a disappointment. But for whoever hasn't played the game, go for it, it's amazing!!!

think this price came before many times, probably on every steam summer/winter sale, too bad now their mod cost more than the game itself...

I really, really like how everyone hates Gaben right now because of this, but the Hail Gaben circlejerk will start up again, once the Steam Summer Sale begins.

Steam took 25-30% depending on if a 3rd party mod site was donated to, bethesda took 45%.
We don't know, so it's possible. And it's possible, so it's probably probable.

The Nexus website's mods are still free. This + DLC's for under $10 is a steal for a great game and hours of entertainment! Got this 1-2 sales ago and still enjoying it.

With steam sales like this - who needs piracy? :cool:

Apparently, Valve dropped the paid mods idea. I read about it last night. It sounds like they're planning to bring them back though, probably when they figure out how to make them work without people raging. They need to listen to the fans and just add a Donate option. http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2015/04 ... team-mods/

Without fixes or mods from other people they would go bankrupt cause the most popular games won't even launch and the devs have no resources to fix their broken games
I have litteraly no idea of what you are talking about and Im a long time gamer. Mods are free xtras that only add more values to games that are already a succes .

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines and Dark Souls

Look it up. The games won't even work vanilla for anyone, like anyone being 100%. You MUST mod them to even play. The mods are an actual requirement, not an option :lol:

Another game is "Saints Row 2". You need a mod called "Gentlemen of the Row" to even play the game
