Stephen Chow is king. Kung Fu Hustle is in my top five favourite movies of all time. Hilariously entertaining.

heh...I've been talking to "CJ7" writer Vincent Kok these days.
I'm gonna do a collabo with him. It's for the love of movies, and not for movies. We gonna brainstorm a flick together. Vincent Kok Tak-Chiu is also from Canada (Vancouver). seems like a nice guy.
I just hope "CJ7" would be just as good as "Kung Fu Hustle". been 3 years since stephen Chow's last movie came out.

yeah i'm wondering too.
i looked over some old posts of him and it seems he worked for a DVD distribution company. dunno if he's doing that right now...
hey tin, are you a film student?
oh yeah...Chow Yun Fat is gonna play Master Roshi? aww come on!!! he's TOO GOOD for something like a Dragon Ball movie. get him and John Woo together and make a real Hard Boiled sequel (forget Stranglehold the video game) lol.

I'm not a film student.
I was close to being one but it never really took off.
20 grand (canadian) for a 15 month course at an academy in the CBC building was a bit too rich for my blood. seneca@york never gave me a reply when i applied despite my qualifications. (i did a tv production course in stephen leacock c.i. and those in the t-dot should know what that school used to be known for)
i still work for Joy Sales doing translations for them. In fact, I most recently worked directly in their office in Hong Kong for a Leah Dizon DVD they're releasing in the next few months. (by the way, it was a nightmare getting the english subs done because quite frankly, i think she talks like a bimbo. still a good view!) i do occasional work for Diskotek Media from the USA. Expecting to help them out for the American remastered dvd re-release of "The Stormriders".
As for Vincent Kok, he recently joined a blog site in Hong Kong called alivenotdead.com and I dunno...he musta taken my advice which I suggested in his first blog entry and decided to look for additional help (for writers). Basically, what he is looking someone who has a love for movies, can type chinese (cuz it's a necessity), experience not needed, sense of humor required and so on.. i can't remember his exact words but it goes somewhere along these lines. he knows i'm coming back to toronto and i think he knows it'll be too far for us to communicate. i suggested him that we can work it out with skype (and i do usually sleep very late so time's not a problem). i'm doing this for free. that's why i call it a 'pet project'.

on an added note, chow yun-fat confirmed it according to the newspaper.
he said he's never read the DBZ manga and the role should be "challenging" for him. he also mentioned that it's going to be a brief cameo.

This is just crap. After Batman Dark Knight, either film this straight as a dark heroic tale or gear it to kids. If it's geared toward kids then why is S.Chow involved...oh SNAP! That's because his whole career is built upon silly teen-style movies - except he's 50 years old.
Dude, I don't want to see him dressed as Goku.

Stephen Chow's just one of the producers of this film. He did give some positive input but FOX pretty much turned him down. And he ain't 50 yet.
