Rule of thumb, if you're uncomfortable with doing something due to paranoia, then just don't do it.

a strange text message - what to make of it?
i received a txt saying
'
please join severity 1 mml line "#####(a 1800 tel num and some ext code)" regarding server "(some server name)". your id shows as being logged into the console log, so you are assumed to be guilty. "some guys name"
'
the only thing i can assume is that it was sent to the wrong number because i have no clue what this is about
i called the number and it says "welcome to EDS teleconference service, please enter your code" or something like that
im just wondering if this could be a scam in any way?? i.e if i put that number in it's like im signing up for some service or something?
maybe i'm paranoid but any advice would be good please
thanks

You must do it immediately as said or a SWAT force sent by the CIA and the NSA will come flying in from your ceiling within 1 hour.
... or you can ignore it and nothing will happen - just useless crap spam, possible scam etc, don't waste your life and no need to be so paranoid.

Just enter the code, and remember to follow the white rabbit.

: YES
if they need you, they will call you instead...how professional it is to contact someone using a text?_______________

Theres not much legislation re: these new txt message billing services...
eg. those ads that say "txt your answer to 12345 and win an ipod!" then theres small fine print ($2.99 per txt message sent).
So that stuff you do might be an agreement to get billed for mobile txting services._______________
