Long shot but could be possible the boot sequence was set to USB first and the computer was trying to boot off a keyboard? I know my dad's computer was trying to boot off a wireless adapter plugged into the USB needless to say I got errors.

** Strangest PC Problem EVER! Come and hear about THIS! **
Ok here is the story...
my aunt has a Asus P5ND2-Sli Motherboard with a D805 CPU !!
Long story short..... when I brought it over to my house to reformat, and give her a legit copy of Windows, the computer wouldn't load up! Everything turns on and runs, but NOTHING HAPPENS!!! So I was like DAMN IT! Something must have went wrong when I brought it over......
So then I brought it back over to my aunt's place, and everything is working FINE :S
So I soon found out, that the computer NEEDED me to plug in an old keyboard that doesn't use USB, in order for the computer to start running :S
WTF !!!
Right now I'm still reformatting, but I really want to know how in the world can this even be a PROBLEM ?? anyone have EXPERIENCE ?_______________

No strange. Old motherboards don't recognize USB devices, only the PS/2 Keyboards. When it can't detect a keyboard, its a boot error, hence it doesn't boot up as it doesn't past POST.

did you have USB emulation on?
I've only seen problems with older IBM's and no PS/2 mice attached. Would give a "disk boot failure" unless a PS/2 mouse was attached or no mouse installed set in BIOS.

Well you gotta call the BIOS flash utility first. Look in the mobo manual. Usually it's come F-key or a combination of keys that you quickly press during POST. The flash prog will start in a DOS-like environment. It will most likely want the BIN file to have a specific name, too.

Asus
Since you have an Asus board, you will need a copy of AFUDOS
Download it from Asus' website, copy it over to the floppy with the Bin file.
Make sure the floppy is bootable.
When it boots up, just enter AFUDOS at the prompt and enter the name of the bin file.
That is it.
BTW: AFUDOS = Asus Flash Utililty DOS, not what you are thinking eh?

I don't know... seems like a lot of work to take out the motherboard and ship it back to ASUS :S
But what I will be hoping for, is that Asus ships me back something else that can support Core 2 Duo CPUs
Another weird thing is... the keyboard stays POWERED ON even when the computer is off :S
It looks the keyboard is like ............. Generating it's own power or SOMETHING :S_______________
