ESPN forced Fuudo to use Rainbow Mika's story mode costume after Fuudo's first match on ESPN2 because they thought it was too revealing.

Makes you wonder if ESPN would have done the same if a Laura player was among the Top 8 finalists for the ESPN broadcast.

The prize money for EVO 2016 was released:

http://www.esportsearnings.com/tourname ... o-2016-sfv
http://www.esportsearnings.com/events/4001-evo-2016

1st place Infiltration won $50,000 USD for EVO 2016's Street Fighter V tournament.
2nd place Fuudo received $20,000

The top prize for smaller tournaments is usually 9-20k per tournament. The 1st place prize for Capcom Cup last year was $60K.

Some of top professional players have sponsorships, therefore the prize money they won yesterday does not include what they earn from their sponsors
throughout the year.

Final results for all games at EVO:

Overall for video game E-sports:
DOTA 2 has the highest prize pools where teams split as much as $1 million dollars per player. 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th are League of Legends, CS: GO, Starcraft, CoD, and Halo 5.

I heard some rumors through the grapevine from Capcom insiders that want to remain anonymous (obviously...their jobs would be on the line otherwise) that Capcom will officially announce a Complete Edition of Street Fighter V with all the DLC and Costumes and Characters (plus a few extra bonuses...maybe characters) in Retail (and online) sometime in the first or second Quarter of 2017, even though Capcom initially said they will not do this, but they don't want to announce it so soon yet because they are still making money off of DLCs coming out. Looking forward to finally getting that version....I had a feeling it was gonna happen sooner or later.

I hope they call this new Retail Edition...the "Real Street Fighter V: We're Sorry We Initially Gave You An Incomplete Game" Edition. LOL!

I haven't been following or heard much about this game for months now but this article and thread is pretty surprising to me and sounds like they're not making much money from this game. Sold less than 100K since April and sounds like lack of content is the least of this games problems. Lots of serious and competitive players saying the actual game mechanics aren't that great and the online play sucks. I kept hearing those were supposed to be the redeeming qualities of this game but now it's like everyone is saying the complete opposite

Street Fighter V has sold about 1.4 million copies (not including digital sales) in less than a year. Still pretty good considering that Street Fighter is the 4th highest selling fighting game franchise.
Super Smash, Tekken, and Mortal Kombat are better selling fighting game franchises than Street Fighter.

If you like to hate on Street Fighter V so much maybe play Super Smash, or a more "complete" fighting game like Mortal Kombat XL instead.
You braged about how great Super Smash Wii U and Nintendo are but I never see you play Smash on Wii U, or even Mario Kart 8, yet I have you on my Wii U friends list from the Mario Kart 8 topic.

EVO viewership had Street Fighter V's peak viewership at 440,000 people (240,000 of those on ESPN2) and the SSV finals ended around 1:30 AM on a Monday (EST).
The next highest was Super Smash Melee (GameCube) at 220,000 simultaneous viewers at the peak.

Some tournaments are less exciting to watch because SonicFox always wins every single Mortal Kombat X event he enters.
Tekken 7 did not have as many viewers because there are two versions of Tekken 7 made in the last two years and it is arcade-exclusive only until sometime in 2017.

nevermind that I was just playing smash a few weeks ago, but how is it even relevant or a point to this topic that I'm no longer playing WiiU games from 2 years ago that I already put tons of hours in back when those games were relevant? Is it surprising that I moved on from 2 year old games I already played a ton?
you sound super defensive about this game being received poorly when I'm just linking the message that came from other people. Maybe go on reddit and argue whatever your point is with them instead of me?

No kidding. If you read the article and the comments in that thread, crazy Capcom expected this game to sell 2 million by now since the reported the 1.4 a few months back but it didn't even do 100K despite the promotion it got during EVO. On top of that the people who own it and still play it sound really upset and have tons of complaints

You played Pokemon last week, your opinion is moot.

You can't comment on new video games, you're stuck in the past.
