http://www.torontosun.com/2012/06/20...-rules-changed
Many of the strip clubs and strippers want a change to the no-touch rule which states that a stripper isn't allowed to have any physical contact with a customer. This rule is about physical contact such as any touching or hugging not sexual contact or services.
Many of the strippers are opposed to the rule and have signed a petition to eliminate this, as stated in the article many of the strip clubs already have strippers having physical contact with customers.
Should the strippers in the clubs be allowed to have physical contact with the customers?

I had my first and only stripper lapdance in Toronto. It was great. I felt everywhere on her (except vagina) while she was giving me the dance. I spent like $60. While not something I would spend too often as its quite expensive, it was pretty awesome and would do it again.
However here in BC there is a no touch rule. I have not gotten a lapdance here. I dont see the point. If I cant touch, it takes the fun out of it. Might as well watch a porn at home. So I can see why the strippers are against it. Probably alot of people like me and they will lose business.

In a few countries where I work, we have sex clubs. You enter, grab a drink, socialize with the ladies, make your selection and then move to the bedroom. At a nice place, the cost is $150/hr. Stripclubs seem pointless in comparison.

Considering very few clubs actually follow the no-touch rule (usually up to the dancer's discretion) I don't really see why this matters.

Exactly. It happens. I have been to a strip club a total of three times in my life and each time, while I never touched unless she encouraged it, touching did occur.
This is basically a non issue. Let the bouncers deal with anyone who is unruely and the the dancers make their money.

Aww man. This better not happen. Defeats the whole purpose of a strip club then. No?

At least when the strippers stop making money at the clubs, there's always page 3 of the Sun for employment.

When they allowed touching in Montreal strip clubs the majority of strippers were against it. There will always be enough clients willing to pay just to watch, the girls don't need touching to make money, the stip club owners are the ones that stand to make money off this, in any case they are usually the ones supplying the coke where most of the strippers pay check goes.

As long as the strippers want it (and not just the managers), then by all means let them do their business however they want.

At one end, you have strippers who are willing to provide happy ending services in the VIP rooms.
Then there are other strippers who don't mind light touching to be allowed, within safe and reasonable bounds.
Then there are female strippers who are doing this as a side job, and would like to keep everything safe and feel protected by the no touching rule.
You can't keep everyone happy no matter what decision is made on the law.

I almost feel like keeping the no-touch rule is a good idea, because it allows the club and the dancers to ignore it if they choose, but also kick someone out if things get dangerous or the dancer feels uncomfortable/threatened.
