Student Plan + Phone
Hey all,
I'm in need of a phone since I'm going in to uni this year, and I need help choosing the best plan/phone.
What I need:
- Caller ID
- Fav 5/10 numbers
What I'd like:
- Smartphone/Blackberry
- If Smartphone: Data plan
- If Blackberry: IM/Email
Don't know which route to take really, BB or smartphone. iPhones are out of the question because a) they're still sold out, and b) plans are too expensive.
I'm open to using Rogers, Bell, Telus, Virgin Mobile, Koodos, whatever has the best deals. Also I'm eligible for student plans so keep that in mind.
Price Range:
Max ~100 for phone (3 year contract fine)
Max around 55 for Plan.
Sorry if I'm being really picky, and thanks everyone for assisstance.

Take over my heavily negotiated plan and you can have:
250 Daytime
Caller ID
100 SMS
Unlimited Incoming
Unlimited Rogers to Rogers Network (Long distance included)
Unlimited Rogers to Fido Network (Long Distance included)
Unlimited Evenings and Weekends free after 6
for $25ish + taxes.
I am also eligible for a hardware upgrade, so you can have an iphone even for $159. If you want blackberry, you can HUP to that as well and add on a $15 email/IM plan.
$40 will have you covered
Let me know if you are interested.

Why not go with Wind? www.windmobile.ca
I've been with them for about 3 months and over all the price is pretty good. There's also Mobilicity, Chatr (rogers), or Public Mobile (I think it's T.O. only though)

I looked into wind but the only phone I'd like from them is too expensive since wind doesn't have a contract for it.

This sounds good, so you're saying I can buy iphone 4 for $159 and still pay $25 + taxes each month?

Which phone specifically? If you want the BB 9700, get one used of kijiji for like 300. Trust me , you'll love not being on a contract, I just came off a Bell 3 year contract, overpriced, horrible. Also Check out WIND's $150 port in credit, bring in a number, you get $25 added to your account each month for 6 months, so if you get the always talk plan or always shout, you'll pay 10 or 20 dollars a month. for the first 6. Cheers.
