Subway discontinues 5.99 foot long deal.

Just went to get my daily veggie sub I get on my lunch break and the guy informed me the special is gone and a veggie sub now costs 9.50 INSANITY

Meanwhile in luxury Manhattan where real estate is the most expensive on the continent they were still offering the 5 dollar foot long deal we had in the early 2010s last summer when I was visiting. Canada gets the shaft yet again.

And you were paying premium for that chicken sub too and they still had to fill it with soy to rip you off even more. Pathetic company hope they go out of business.

9/10 times you go to Subway and the tomatoes are the saddest things youve ever seen; they always look like they're suffering from seasonal affective disorder or something.

Veggies aside from tomatoes were always fine and 5.99 was an alright deal but 9.50? not in a million years, gonna have to put some brisket or something on that to get me to cough up that kind of money.

Trust Subway to defend themselves...

The chicken that was tested by marketplace was their whole grilled chicken piece, not the strips in the video they posted. They're trying to deflect

who still goes to subway? i will say their subs were quality in the 80s and early 90s...then they started expanding like crazy in the mid to late 90s and the food was never the same...

Go to College & Spadina. Have a look at a busy subway sub and see for yourself while the Mr. sub around the corner looks very much dead in comparison.
Why?
I can't speak for everyone, but I'm pretty sure it may have something to do with self serve beverage instead of being stuck with a can or bottle in a combo.

maybe just have water? but of course, eating a "healthy" sub makes people think having a sugary drink is fine...

subway was good until they introduced more than the two breads, did away with the wedge cut and started using purple onions instead of white - not saying that's the reason just around that time period is when they got worse. They were totally ok throughout the 90's.

Pepsi is not the only choice there. Diet pepsi has no sugar, along with other choices at the mega fountain, with less sugar than pepsi, which include strawberry kiwi beverage, iced tea, and lemonade.

to be honest there's been many times where i have decided not to go to restaurants because they didn't have fountain drinks.
