I'm just amused that OP is so annoyed by this 'off centre plate' phenomenon lol. I can think of many many numerous things that really tick ppl off while driving, but off centre plates? Srsly? LMAO.
The richest 1% of this country owns half our country’s wealth, 5 trillion dollars, one-third of that comes from hard work, two-thirds comes from inheritance, interest on interest accumulating to widows and idiot sons, and what I do.. <find the rest>

Again with the "moving" theory. Why is it that everyone who does this move drives a Lancer/Impreza/Mazda 3/BMW 3-series? How come Camry and Accord drivers don't ever move to other provinces?
Interesting, how did you research this?

What theory? That happened to me. I moved to a province that required the front plate, got it done quick at some small shop, and a few years later moved to another province that doesn't have the plate. Now the front bumper's scratched and there are two holes in it.

Oh, and it's a cheapo Nissan, not any of the models you mentioned.

Wait, so you're saying you drilled holes to put the plate in the center of the bumper?

You're okay then.

People who drive Camry/Corolla/Accords don't care what their car looks like. It's an appliance to them. On sporty cars people tend to care about the way their cars look more, as they've paid for some style. They want to look different from most other cars, so they buy nice wheels, move their plates, etc.
There's also a cooling benefit to not blocking the radiator on some cars, especially if they've been tuned with an intercooler in front.
Is an A5 not sportier than a Lancer? Never seen one on an A5.

It's just my personal experience. Do you have a different experience? Seen lots of RAV4 with off center plates?

A Lancer Evo is way more sporty than an A5.

Either way A5's do it too.

How do you monitor everyone moving province to province and taking note of which car they drive?

Truth is alot of European cars, are designed for the long and narrow plate... not what we have in North America... so it looks like crap.

I don't. That's simply what others on this thread are suggesting to me.

S5 is just a different trim. Lancer's also come in higher trim like Ralliart, etc.

So where are the people with regular A5s who mount the plate off center?

Do you really care to tally every model of car on the planet?

Sounds like you have an off center plate.

I don't see how two holes in my bumper is "okay". If I had the chance to process the request and not do it at the place next to ICBC cause we already exchanged the plates, I would have found a better way.

No, I just want to see how you're able to rationalize the stuff you're saying, because I can't. You keep giving me theories that sound plausible in your head, but none of it is backed up by any empirical evidence.

I have a big problem with how your car looks. I think your car looks ridiculous. Just my opinion though. You don't have to agree, just like how I don't agree with how your car looks.
