suggestion on where to buy textbooks
I know its frowned about to use ebay, but this is more of a store.
try www.half.ebay.com for your textbooks, most you can pick up relatively cheaper than your university bookstore. I got a Differential Equations text that sold for $99.95 for $29.78 delivered, this was a special case but most will save you the tax plus maybe 10-20 percentLast edited by jeremy_harq; Aug 13th, 2005 at 07:26 AM.

For textbooks, I find that it's best to search around. Use the book title or ISBN number to search using Google. If you can, get an international edition, it usually costs less than half the price of the North American edition. Everything is identical, except for maybe the cover.

I've also heard that Tusbe is good for students who live in Toronto.

amazon usually has a good collection of new and used textbook. (Not ALL textbooks, but some you can find on there)
Or better yet, split up with friends, photocopy. (I personally don't like photocopied ones, but I see more and more ppl do that now a days)
Lastly, look for postings around school, you'll find a lot of those during the first few weeks.

Finding someone one year ahead of you who will sell you all their texts is the easiest. Next I'd try the used book store or flyers around campus.

You might want to be careful with photocopied books. Aside from the copyright violations, if you have an open book exam, teachers won't allow you to bring in those copies.
