hi...
I am pretty confident that Citizen is the value brand of JVC.

Really? Citizen has been around for years, back with the old Candle stereos, etc. Wonder though if JVC purchased Citizen though. However, JVC prices have significantly dropped too. They are only marginally more expensive than Citizen now.

Decent price for 27". I don't know about Citizen as a TV brand but I use to wear a Citizen watch and they use to be good.

Jutan International Limited (JIL) uses the names Candle, Citizen, Concerto, and Electrohome. VCRs were usually built by Funai, but now by Emerson/Orion. The units branded with the Electrohome name are slightly better than the others. Their TV's are reasonable if you want a low-end set and don't care too much about the long term.

Jutan International Limited (JIL)
Canadian company that sells Asian sourced Brown Goods using both brands that it owns such as Citizen and with licensed brands such as Electrohome. Note that the company only owns the Citizen trademark in Canada and even though they use a similar font in the logo as what the Japanese company uses there is no relation whatsoever, it has in the past also used brandnames such as Candle and Concert. Users of modern web browsers like Mozilla or Opera should be aware that at the time this was written the company's home page was very amateurishly put together (multiple body statements etc.) so it would not show up at all on those browsers.

Deal is over in Toronto.

Actually, the salesperson in the electronics section said that they couldn't even get the demo units to turn on at first. He recommended waiting for a year-end sale; shopping elsewhere; and buying a different brand.

Ouch.
